This morning Ace and I Skyped with Joey and Archie for two solid hours. It was awesome. I got to be a fly on the wall just like I wanted. Archie is just so happy! His smile is amazing. The first thing he said to me this morning was, "Hi Mommy, I love you!" My heart melted.
He has A LOT of energy. Like a whole lot. I am going to definitely have my hands full considering that Ace does not lack energy either. Ace LOVES being able to see and talk to him. It is hilarious because she knows that he doesn't really understand English, and I guess she hears the way we talk to him, so she says things to him like, "Archie, say puppy. PU-PPY." He just kind of stares at her.
One thing Joey told me that made me super happy is that Archie is a major cuddler! We like to cuddle at our house. Joey said that Archie likes to sleep as close to him as possible with his arms all wrapped around him. Archie loves Joey so much. Several times today while we were Skyping he would just smile really big at him and kiss him on the cheek. While they were on a walk today holding hands, he lifted Joey's hand up and kissed it.
I have to give Archie's orphanage and all of his caretakers so much credit for preparing him for this transition. Although we only met him once several months ago, for just five short days, they looked at our pictures with him every single day in between, and explained to him that we were his family. They explained what a mom and dad were. And a sister. And they told him we would come to get him and that he would come be with us forever. The fact that they talked to him so much about that, and made sure he saw our pictures every day, is such a blessing and is making the transition so much easier.
Okay, on to the good stuff!!
Cuddling. My sweet boys.
Eating with his friend Teddy. His Gotcha Day was Monday also! It has been a blessing for Joey to have his family, The Jacobsens, there this week.
His teacher warned me he might do this. When he gets tired of walking, he just sits down.
At the park
That's all for now!
Lots of Love!
