I woke up this morning unsure of whether yesterday was real or a dream. I peeked in my son's bedroom and saw his sweet little face sound asleep. I still cannot believe he is here.
He went to sleep really well last night, and slept through the night. What a champ. Ace on the other hand was still a bit too excited for sleep. The last thing I wanted was for her to wake him up, so to keep the peace and quiet in the house, I let her lay on the couch and watch a show, and even drink apple juice from a sippy cup until she finally fell asleep at almost 11. I know, mother of the year award right here please! Those are all of the things I have been working really hard on NOT allowing her to do anymore. But, she is going through the biggest change in her life. And if it means me sleeping on the couch with her a few nights, while sipping on some juice and watching Ni Hao Kai Lan, to make her feel happy and comfortable- I am okay with that.
They both woke up this morning so happy and cuddly. Archie came in and woke Ace up with a kiss on the cheek. It was so cute. He just walked over and climbed up on the couch next to her to kiss her. This boy loves his little sister!
She was so happy to see him! She is usually not much of an early morning girl, but she popped right up with the biggest smile!
Archie is finally getting more comfortable with Jessie. While I was sitting at the computer, he came up to me and kept saying "Jessie, Jessie" and then putting his hand to his mouth as to showing me "eat". I didn't understand what he was talking about until I heard some crunching behind me, and realized that he had gone and gotten a handful of Jessie's food and brought it to her in the den. He would throw it on the ground and then back up to keep a safe distance.
A little bit later I found Jessie's food in her water bowl. I was pretty sure I knew who did it, but the Cars sippy cup the culprit left behind really gave it away.
Both little monsters are now napping so sweetly. You'll have to take my word for it, no way am I going to risk waking them with a picture. Napping is another thing Ace didn't do before Archie. This is a rare quiet time in our house. Praying it happens every day!
I promise to keep the posts and updates coming as we continue to grow together as a brand new family of four.
I will also try to do some posts answering the most common questions that we get asked. There are a lot of questions that I have been asked many times, and I would love to be able to do some posts to answer them.
Okay, going to try and rest while I still can!
Lots of Love!
